Create a Web Page
Overview
Anyone who has an E-mail address at Ursinus has Web space assigned to them. This includes all students, faculty, staff and organizations. Web space is housed on the webpages server (http://webpages.ursinus.edu) This server uses Internet Information Server to host the pages. By default, 10 meg of disk space is allotted to each Web site.

Individuals
Web sites for individuals use the following format:
http://webpages.ursinus.edu/username/
where username is the individual's Ursinus E-mail username. Joe Student would have Web space located at :
http://webpages.ursinus.edu/jostudent/.
Individuals use their E-mail username and password to access their Web site. If you do not have Web space, contact the Technology Support Center.

Organizations
All Ursinus related organizations can have Web space. Web sites for organizations use the following format:
http://webpages.ursinus.edu/organization/
where organization is the organization's name or initials. Kappa Delta Kappa has Web space located at :
http://webpages.ursinus.edu/kdk/
The Lantern literary magazine has their Web space at:
http://webpages.ursinus.edu/lantern/
Organizations use their E-mail username and password to access their Web site.

Requesting Web Space for Organizations
Before requesting Web space, check to see if space already exists. Go to http://webpages.ursinus.edu/ and look for your organization. Check for variations of the organization name.
Steps to Access Existing Web Space
- If space exists, contact the Technology Support Center and request that the password be changed.
- Information Technology will check with Student Activities to determine the validity of your request. If Student Activities does not have you listed as an officer of the organization, the password will not be changed.
- Have Student Activities update their records to include you as an officer, if necessary. Request that Student Activities notify Information Technology of the update.
- After you have obtained the password, use Outlook Web Access to change it.
- Organizations use their E-mail username and password to access their Web site.

Steps to Request New Web Space
- Notify the Technology Support Center that your organization needs Web space.
- In the request, include:
Full name of the organization
Requested Web site name (this will also be the E-mail username)
Your name, E-mail address and phone number
- Information Technology will create the necessary accounts and assign a password. You will be notified when the process is completed.
- After you have obtained the password, use Outlook Web Access to change it.
- Organizations use their E-mail username and password to access their Web site

Obtain a Link From the Ursinus Site
- Links to organizations are provided in the Student Life section of the Ursinus site. After you have created your Web site, contact the webmaster@ursinus.edu to have a link to your site created.
