Tutoring For ursinus students

Individual Peer Tutoring

UC Peer Tutors provide individual and group tutoring sessions in various subjects. Tutors are selected based on their performance in the course, and recommendations from faculty. The goal of the tutoring program is for students to become successful, independent learners.  Students may request a tutor for most 100 or 200-level courses (unless a help room is offered in that subject area). Tutoring is provided at no charge to students.

Group Tutoring options

In addition to individual tutoring, the Center works collaboratively with various academic departments to offer the following tutoring & study session options:

Community Tutoring

As part of our commitment to serve our community, Ursinus offers tutoring in a variety of subjects to junior high and high school students.  Tutors are available in the following subjects: English, Math, and Science courses as well as some foreign languages.  Tutors are paid at a rate of $10/hour. All tutoring sessions are held on campus in the Myrin Library.  NOTE:  Compensation for work performed by student tutors is handled directly between the student and the employer.  The Center for Academic Support does not provide background checks on students applying to work as tutors.  You are encouraged to request reference information as needed to establish qualifications, credentials, and overall fit.  The Center for Academic Support acts only as a referral service and makes no recommendations or guarantees about tutors. Questions regarding this program may be directed to the Center for Academic Support at communitytutoring@ursinus.edu or by calling 610-409-3400.
