Independent Learning

We let students take responsibility for their education and develop initiative and independence by enhancing their confidence in their own abilities.

The independent learning experience is a staple of the Ursinus education. Students are able mold their educational experience to their liking. Most students use the independent learning experience to pursue a passion within the fields of math and computer science. This gives students direction in their future in either industry or graduate studies. The independent learning experience is a requirement to graduate and allows students to take control in their education. The requirement can be fulfilled by completing research, an internship, or studying abroad.  Most students find these experiences so enriching that they choose to complete more than one.
