Can I have a friend from another family unit visit my common room?

Thanks to the work that you have put in and the low number of positive cases in our recent testing, we are able to allow residents from different family units into common spaces in residence halls across campus.

With this good news, we remind everyone to remain diligent in abiding by the guidelines so that we can continue our on-campus experience that many elsewhere are not able to have this semester.

Some important reminders:

  • All residence hall rooms cannot have more than twice their occupancy.
  • Common rooms cannot exceed posted occupancy and resident students from outside your family unit are permitted if you ALL are abiding by the occupancy limit, physically distancing, and wearing masks.
  • Resident students from outside your family unit are permitted in your residence hall room if you ALL are abiding by the occupancy limit, physically distancing, and wearing masks.
  • The guidelines related to guests and overnight guests are still in place.

We also ask that you review the separation policy in the event that you are asked to leave campus for not abiding by the guidelines.
