April 11 - On-campus vaccination clinic April 15, 2021

Dear Campus Community,

We are excited to share news that all current faculty, staff, and students of Ursinus College will be given the opportunity to receive the Moderna vaccine during an on-campus clinic organized by Rite-Aid on Thursday, April 15. This is an exclusive clinic for Ursinus that will be hosted in the field house.

To accommodate this important event, the weekly mandatory testing session will be moved from Thursday to Wednesday for this week only. We ask that students come to the field house around their normally scheduled time, but we will make every effort to be as accommodating as possible. Thank you for your flexibility!

Though we strongly encourage vaccinations, this clinic is completely voluntary. We ask those interested in participating to mark their calendars. An important follow-up communication will be sent tomorrow afternoon–Monday, April 12–with further instructions and a registration link listing all available timeslots. You will need to have an ID card that includes your birthdate (such as a driver’s license) and your insurance card.

It is important to know that you must also be available for the 2nd dose, which will be administered on Monday, May 10. You will receive an email request to schedule that time soon after your first dose.

We are proud to offer this opportunity to members of the community, but understand that many of you may still have questions about COVID vaccines and Montgomery County’s vaccination effort. To address those questions and to provide greater insight into the program, we’ve asked Dr. Liz Van Aulen from the Montgomery County Department of Health to speak with our community. As a community health educator for the county, Dr. Van Aulen is uniquely qualified to host this special Q&A Zoom session, which will be conducted on Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. Please plan to participate by using the link in your email.

We have been working hard to extend this opportunity to all faculty, staff, and students before the close of the semester. On behalf of the task force, we hope you plan to join us next Thursday in the Field House. We have accomplished so much this year and are excited that you may begin the summer with some added peace of mind.

Be well, Bears!
