December 3 - Update on Testing and Registered Events

Dear Students,

We wanted to again reach out to you and thank you for testing this week. Your diligence in doing so allowed us to have a more complete sense of the health of our campus community as we seek to maintain a safe and healthy campus environment.

After this week’s round of testing, we have experienced an increase in the number of positive cases on campus. Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, that was expected. Because of that increase–and because this weekend marks the final weekend before exams begin–we are asking all students to again test next week.

As a reminder, testing hours in Myrin Library are:

–Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

–Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

–Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

–Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

–Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Now that the vast majority of campus has tested, registered events will be allowed this weekend. It appears these cases arose from infections off campus, and we see no suggestions of significant on-campus transmission. Please continue to use your discretion and socialize responsibly. In addition to COVID-19, it is cold and flu season, so if you are sick or feeling unwell, be mindful of your peers and do not attend social events.

Thank you, once again, for your role in helping us maintain a healthy campus. Have a safe and happy weekend and good luck on final exams!

Sincerely,
