As you wrap up the semester we are advising every student to get a final COVID test before going home for break. Our region has seen a steady and substantial increase in positive cases, and our goal is for you to return home in a manner that protects not just your wellbeing, but the health of your family and friends. The COVID testing site in Myrin will be open during regular hours this week and we welcome students from A, B, and C week schedules. We encourage you to come during your regular testing time, if possible, but if not, you may drop in without appointment. Testing hours are:
- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Tuesday, Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m
With the arrival of the Omicron variant, it is also recommended that you get a booster shot. We encourage students, faculty, and staff to take advantage of this opportunity before the spring semester if possible. We also will be hosting a booster shot clinic on campus on January 27 for those who are interested but were unable to do so over the break.
Because of continuing concern about COVID, this coming spring semester will have a mandatory check-in process with testing for all students arriving to campus on January 18 and 19. We will communicate details as well as advice for pre-arrival testing and measures to minimize the chances of bringing COVID to campus in January; please look for email with more details around January 7.
You have my best wishes for a successful and healthy conclusion to the semester.
