The Library Hosts a Drag Queen Story Hour
Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH) was created by author Michelle Tea and her literary non-profit RADAR Productions. From the first event in San Francisco a few short years ago in 2015, DQSH has become a worldwide phenomenon. Now, the students of Professor Scudera’s “From Shakespeare to RuPaul: A History of Drag Performance” course this spring are bringing DQSH to Ursinus!
This Saturday, March 23rd, and again on April 27th, at 11 a.m. in the Myrin Library, local drag queen Summer Clearance will read books to children ages 3-8. Members of the campus and local communities are invited to bring their children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends to enjoy this event that will “capture the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and give kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models.” Students from the course will have fun activities for the kids, too.
We look forward to seeing some of you there!
