Library Adds Over 130,000 E-books!

The Library recently expanded its e-book collection by over 130,000 titles.

The Library recently increased its book collection by about a third–some 130,000 volumes– without filling a single shelf!  Beginning this Fall, the Library added three e-book collections from Proquest Ebrary, including the largest, Academic Complete.  This collection, tailored to colleges and universities, covers subject areas that are a good fit for Ursinus’s academic programs, including: biology, computer science, business, psychology, history, and performing arts, among others.  Some of the publishers represented include: Wiley, Routledge, Oxford University Press, and Cambridge University Press.  Many of the titles have been published in the past 4 years.

Whether on campus or not, Ursinus students, faculty, and staff have unlimited access to this e-book collection whenever they are connected to the internet.  Once registered with Ebrary, they can keep a permanent “bookshelf” of their favorite titles and can annotate, save, or print selected pages.  For offline reading, books can be borrowed for a 14 day period by downloading them to laptops, tablets, or smart phones.

The e-book collection can be searched from the library catalog, UC Summon, or the Proquest Ebrary website.  For questions or comments, please contact Kerry Gibson, Collection Management Librarian (x3460, kgibson@ursinus.edu).
