Ursinus Launches Official Campus App

Ursinus has introduced a new mobile app, MobileU, that prioritizes the safety and well-being of students and keeps the campus community informed of news, events and other information.

MobileU is a free mobile device app that will send subscribers important safety alerts and provide instant access to campus safety resources.

“The safety of our students and members of our campus community is critically important, and MobileU allows us to share important and urgent news with them instantly in the event of an emergency,” Director of Campus Safety John Bera said. “We’re excited to have this new communications tool at our disposal.”

Additionally, MobileU provides students with access to specific course and grade information, and includes access to Wismer dining options, athletics, Ursinus events and news, and Guidebook, where graduating students can find information on commencement.

MobileU safety features include:

  • A virtual walk home feature, where campus safety can monitor your journey until you safely reach your destination.
  • A friend walk, which allows you to send your location to a friend, who can track your location in real time and directly reach campus safety if needed.
  • Mobile bluelight, which sends your exact location to campus safety in the event of an emergency.
  • Chat with campus safety so that you can communicate live with a safety officer or dispatcher.

During the fall 2019 semester, Ursinus introduced a new emergency notification system designed to better disseminate announcements to the campus community through email and text. MobileU makes that process even better.
