Sheryl Goodman

Sheryl Goodman, Associate Professor, received her B.S. in Spanish and Linguistics from Georgetown University and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Rhetoric & Communication from Temple University.  She joined the faculty at Ursinus College in 1997. Her teaching areas include: Communication Theory and Research Methods, Intercultural Communication, Gender, Ethnicity & Communication, Conflict, Friendship, and The Common Intellectual Experience (CIE), the first-year liberal studies sequence of courses taken by all first-year students.

Her research examines talk about race and gender in the undergraduate classroom, interracial and intra-racial communication, and discussion dilemmas in institutional contexts.

Her work appears in Communication Monographs, The International Journal of Qualitative Studies in Education, The Humanistic Psychologist, and The Journal on Excellence in College Teaching. She regularly involves undergraduate students in her research projects as co-presenters at professional meetings.
