Finance and Administration


The Director is responsible for leading the human resources practices and objectives. The Director will provide input toward strategic and programmatic leadership of the HR function to enable the college to pursue its mission, goals and strategic plan. The Director promotes and implements human resource values by planning and managing all aspects of the human resources programs and directing the HR staff.


  • Directs the Human Resources Strategic and Operating Plan to provide talent strategies, enhance our organizational effectiveness and build increased capacity, capability and engagement and retention that align with organizational goals and objectives
  • Directs human resources strategies including recruitment and staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, wellness initiatives, safety and health, training and development, succession planning, employee relations and retention, compliance, and records management
  • Manages human resources operations by training, counseling, planning and monitoring, determining production, quality and customer service strategies, implementing change, resolving problems, communicating and enforcing college values
  • Reviews and makes recommendations to management for improvement of the college’s policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters
  • Supports Associate Vice President for Finance and Administration with employee relations including grievances/concerns, performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions
  • Develops and oversees compensation strategies
  • Develops communication strategies for all human resources programs
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and employment law
  • Updates job knowledge by attending conferences and educational opportunities, participating in professional organizations, and networking

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, Master’s preferred
  • Professional certification in Human Resources is a plus
  • At least ten years of progressive human resources experience; experience in higher education preferred
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Significant knowledge and experience of applicable HR statutes and regulations, such as ADA, COBRA, FMLA, FLSA, HIPAA, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, PA Act 153, ACA
  • Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills required
