Getting Started

Welcome to your first days as an Ursinus faculty member!

The Human Resources Office and the Office of Academic Affairs will guide you through the hiring process.

Below is information you may want to utilize during your first few days as a new faculty member!

New Faculty Orientation

New Faculty Orientation is held each semester before classes begin and is coordinated by Dr. Mark Schneider, Dean of the College and Vice President for Academic Affairs.

A New Faculty Colloquium series is held weekly throughout the fall semester.

Relocation/Moving Policies

Certain new faculty members may be entitled to relocation or moving reimbursement. Those who do qualify will be reimbursed according to the Internal Revenue Service Standard Mileage Rates (see attached IRS publication about Moving Expenses). The current rate (June 2017) is 19 cents per mile driven for moving purposes.

Please reach out to the deansoffice@ursinus.edu for any reimbursement needs or questions.

Dual Career Couples

As you begin your career with us, we want to make sure all dual career couples have the tools necessary to find work in the Philadelphia area. The Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (HERC) has tools to help your partner find a job in the surrounding area.
