Ursinus College’s Career and Professional Development office (herein the “College”) provides, as a convenience and free of charge, employment resources and information for students and prospective employers. Using an online system known as “Handshake,” employers may post information about their current job listings, and students may access those listings to identify possible job listings, submit applications for certain job listings, and arrange interviews with particular employers. All hiring and compensation for work performed by students is handled directly between the student and the employer.
The College makes no representations, recommendations or guarantees regarding the integrity, credentials or quality of prospective employers (whether organizations or individuals) and/or of student employees, or regarding the accuracy or reliability of posted job listing or employment data transmitted through Handshake. The College urges all users of Handshake to exercise caution and common sense and to take all necessary precautions when utilizing Handshake and when deciding whether to enter into an employment relationship. Employers and students are encouraged to request reference information from each other as needed to establish qualifications, credentials and overall fit between the employer and the student applicant.

The College is not responsible to anyone who posts or accesses information or otherwise uses Handshake for any direct or indirect harm, damage or loss incurred in connection with such use, regardless of the nature of the alleged harm, damage or loss or corresponding demand, claim or cause of action. Without limiting the foregoing, the College expressly disclaims any responsibility or obligation to assess and/or determine the suitability of any individual seeking employment, any potential employer, or any potential employment situation. By using Handshake as a student or prospective employer, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the College and its employees and agents with respect to any claims made against the College, or its officers, trustees, employees or agents, in connection with your use of Handshake.
