Hazardous Waste

Hazardous wastes generated from activities on campus must be disposed of in accordance with applicable Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) regulations.

The Hazardous Waste Management Plan outlines the responsibilities under the program, identification of hazardous wastes, labeling, container, and record keeping requirements, generator status, Satellite Accumulation Areas (SAA), hazardous waste storage areas, and disposal guidelines.

The Universal Waste Policy outlines the proper disposal of lamps, batteries, mercury containing devices, and some pesticides and addresses proper disposal of electronics including computers.

It is the policy of Ursinus College to minimize hazardous waste through the implementation and administration of hazardous waste minimization and disposal programs in all affected departments.
