COVID rapid antigen testing will be available at the Wellness Center, Monday through Friday during TWO walk-in testing hours. 

• 9 - 10 a.m.
• 3 - 4 p.m.

Masks are required to enter Wellness Center.

We will also begin using the NAVICA app for test results. If you do not have the NAVICA app on your phone, please review instructions and download the app before your next testing visit!

For symptomatic students: Please make an appointment so that medical staff can help to treat any non-COVID-related concerns in addition to testing. You can contact the Wellness Center at wellness@ursinus.edu or call 610-409-3100. You can also make medical appointments via your BearCare Portal.

For non-symptomatic students or students who would like to undergo testing: A walk-in hour will be available each weekday. The schedule for walk-in testing is forthcoming. Special testing sessions may occur throughout the semester based on the health of campus. Please check your email regularly and be ready to participate, if needed.

If you test positive for COVID with an at-home kit or at on off-campus site, please notify the Wellness Center at wellness@ursinus.edu

You need to reach out to your contacts (individuals who spent at least 15 minutes cumulatively within 6 feet of you anytime back until 48 hours before the onset of symptoms, or if you had no symptoms, 48 hours before your positive test sample was taken. The CDC also describes contacts on this web page in more detail.

• Was the person less than 6 feet away from someone with confirmed or suspected COVID-19? Consider time spent with someone with COVID-19 starting 2 days before the infected person developed symptoms, or the date they were tested if they do not have symptoms, until they started isolation.
• Has the person been in the presence of someone with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period?

If the answers to the questions above are both yes, the person is a close contact, regardless of whether the person was wearing a mask properly. This person should be contacted and notified that they should begin wearing a mask and testing regularly.

If the answer to either of the questions above is no, the person is not a close contact.

Isolation Protocol

Students who test positive for COVID-19 will follow CDC illness restriction protocols.

• If students can return home safely via car for the duration of their isolation, that is our FIRST recommendation.
• If students choose to remain on campus, students will need to isolate in their existing room assignment and adhere strictly to all public health policies. It is important to note, that students will be directed to stay in their existing room assignment if they remain on campus, even if they live in a multiple-occupancy room with roommates. 

  You should have an established plan with your roommates and/or housemates (if applicable) on how to isolate in a manner that everyone is comfortable.  View Residence Life Covid-19 Considerations

  o Remain masked and physically distanced from others
  o Utilize single-use bathrooms if available
  o Avoid common spaces or areas where others may be present
  o Do not attend class, athletics, or other college-related events until your isolation period has completed

Ending Isolation

Students may return to campus and classes after five 24-hour periods (or “five sleeps”) from the date of their positive test under the following conditions:

Ending isolation if you had symptoms:

End isolation after 5 full days if you are fever-free for 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication) and your symptoms are improving. Wear a well-fitting mask when around others for the 10 full days following your test or symptom onset.

Do not go to places where you are unable to wear a mask.

If you continue to test positive or continue to experience symptoms, you should consider staying in isolation until day 10. You may return to campus only if you have been fever-free for 24 hours and other symptoms have diminished.

If at any point you have serious symptoms, including difficulty breathing or high fever, you should contact Wellness or your primary health care professional.

Ending isolation if you did NOT have symptoms:

End isolation after at least 5 full days after your positive test. Wear a well-fitting mask for another 5 full days any time you are around others inside your home or in public. Do not go to places where you are unable to wear a mask.

If you got very sick from COVID-19 or have a weakened immune system:

You should isolate for at least 10 days.

Dining Services:

Takeout from Wismer will be available for students isolating on campus. Please complete “Sick Meals” request form for takeout. You can safely pick up your takeout from Wismer as long as you are wearing a masking and physically distancing whenever possible. You can also send a friend to pick up for you, if available.

Residential Support:

Academic Support:

Please notify your faculty if need to miss class because of a positive test. If you need further academic support, please reach out to the Institute for Student Success insituteforstudentsuccess@ursinus.edu  or 610-409-3400.

Students who have been exposed to COVID are encouraged to test for at least five consecutive days following exposure. Please review the testing information listed above to determine the best testing plan for you. You are also recommended to wear a well-fitting mask around others and to avoid places where masking is not possible for at least five days.

For healthy students, masks are no longer required on campus except in health care facilities, such as the Wellness Center or the Sports Medicine Clinic. Masks are required for those who are still within the 10-day timeline from a positive test but have completed isolation. Masks are also encouraged for those who have been recently exposed to COVID.

Some faculty may request students wear masks in their classroom and we ask that students comply. Recognize that some people may choose to continue to mask even though the campus or community may not require it. It is important that students, faculty, and staff respect and support these personal health decisions.
